One of the things I like about my job is when I get a chance to speak with customers and fellow pilots. I spoke with a customer this week that was ordering a model of the Kaydet Stearman for his brother’s birthday. He went on to say that his brother had built Stearmans all his life and was finishing his last one. He wanted to give the model as a gift “to ease the withdrawal after your last Stearman is completed and gone.” The most interesting part is that his brother was 94 years young! Wishing you Blue Skies & Tailwinds!™
I saw the Blue Angels Air Show last weekend in San Francisco. The air show is performed annually when the Navy fleet arrives through the Golden Gate Bridge. I must have seen the Blue Angels perform at least a dozen times and the air show is still just as thrilling as the first time. They never fail to disappoint. Kudos to these marvelous pilots. Wishing you Blue Skies & Tailwinds!™
We just added a line of new aviation posters that are both educational and artsy. The good news is that they are priced low! My favorite educational poster is the Basics of Flight which covers everything from the four forces affecting flight to proper pattern procedures. I think every FBO should have this one in their lobby.
And who doesn’t love the High Flight poem? The poem is beautifully rendered on the poster as a plane ascends into the clouds. Frame it and you have a wonderful art print for the wall. Check out the other educational posters under Aviation Art. Wishing you Blue Skies & Tailwinds!™
Need a reason to fly other than getting a $50.00 hamburger? Come join us at Wings over Marin. Gnoss airfield aka Marin County Airport is celebrating 50 years of flight on Saturday, August 14, 2010. It will be interesting for pilots and aviation enthusiasts with static displays, fly-bys, and generally good family fun. Hours are 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. We’ll be there with a wonderful selection of Tailwinds merchandise. So come on by and say hello. We love to meet our customers!
