Bye Bye B 727

March 1, 2016 marks the end of an era for the Boeing 727. The first B 727 ever manufactured took it last flight, roughly 15 minutes, from Paine Field to the Museum of Flight in Washington. United Airlines donated the aircraft to the museum when it was retired in 1991, and it has been under restoration since that time. United took possession of the aircraft in 1961 and flew 3 million passengers. The B 727 was the first airplane where Boeing sold over 1,000 aircraft and ultimately 1800 were produced. 727-3
